mar_yoom, wa ‘alaykum as-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Jazakillahu khair for your kind words! And that you can relate! Lol… I have to stop buying and start reading what I already have. Insha Allah. :)
]]>I just happened upon your blog, and I must say I’m glad I did!
It’s a joy to read, I like your writing style:)
May Allah bless your work:)
]]>Witness, woohoo! Funny you should mention Lit classes lol. I would’ve thought such classes makes you *want* to read more. Anyhew, nice reading your reads. ;)
]]>I joined :)
]]>Up to you eh. *holds knife to back*
I kid.
travellaar, uhh, I’m guessing that’s a snicker of content without a good reads account? I’ll get to you! Speaking of snicker, I do love Snickers Cruncher.
]]>I kind of go through phases of not reading, or not finishing, books and then suddenly get back into them again and so I’m not sure how I’d be at maintaining any list. Although I did just finish Moazzem’s book which I see you’re reading and I give it a big thumbs up (although a big thumbs down to the US and UK).
Plus Saudi kind of sucks when it comes to English reading material. The Islamic books seem to be exclusively published by Dar-us-Salam (I like some of their publications but I like variety too) and the other English books (current affairs, comedy, etc) are often subject to scrutiny and hopeless delays in availability.
Unless of course you’re into romance novels which seem to fill large sections of the shops I’ve wandered around, but I guess that is a result of the culturally stupidly high mahr demands in this country and the resultant extreme difficulty for the youth wanting to marry.
