.:Bullet Proof Read:.

A threshold of [edited] thoughts.

For you, a thousand times over.

mesorry3.jpg

If apologies could speak
Would they kneel before you
And cry you a creek
Of sorrow through and through

If apologies could sing
What sonnet would they choose
One of pardon seeking
Or croon confessions of abuse

If apologies could roam
How far would they go
Deep within a heart’s tomb
Or just beneath, shallow

If apologies could run
Would they chase history
To change what’s been done
Or rather escape reality

If apologies could soar
Where would they fly
Far distant places of lore
Or resign with a fated sigh

If apologies could emerge
Victorious from despair
Would good feelings surge
Render the past beyond compare

If apologies could
Then surely I should
For my love, I am sorry
And all of apology is me.

Yeah, I did, Biggie Mo! Hehe. Jazakillahu khair. :)

Btw, general note, the line “For you, a thousand times over” is of course from the book The Kite Runner. Excellent, excellent read.

    Nice, masha’Allah!

    Heh… I suck at poetry… :P

Ohhh, I thought that line (”For you, a thousand times over”) sounded familiar… yet I didn’t even catch the reference… sad, considering I just finished reading The Kite Runner not so long ago!

    Ma sha Allah

You’re way better than I could ever hope to be.

    Sayyad

AnonyMouse, thanks. I’ve not seen your poetry… But you certainly do a great job with your writings! :) Did you like The Kite Runner btw? I’ve seen mostly rave reviews which I agree to, but have heard a few contentions as well.

Sayyad, then maybe you hope less. Get it? Hopeless? Heh. But anyway, thanks. Means a lot coming from you. :)

OMG, that was so beautiful. I am linking to this post on my written post link :P

  9. Traveller May 13th, 2007 9:46 am

    *sigh*

    Okay. I forgive you.

nice poem btw..reminds me of another apology someone made somewhere else..I’ll link it if I ever find it :D

re: the kiterunner; I think I have a love/hate relationship with that book, yunno.

  10. Editor May 13th, 2007 10:58 am

Organic Muslimah, thanks, that’d be an honour! *blush*

Traveller, lol, that reminds me of my cheesy Apology Thread. Sigh. Danke anyhew. I actually had the Joe Apology site (got the cool link off Tasmiya’s blog) in mind when I took the apology picture - yes ’tis my very own handwriting ;). But yeah, I figured why be anonymous. :P

And yes, I know what you mean about The Kite Runner. I suppose I don’t have a personal connection to the actual setting/background… so maybe I don’t feel as offended by the “intellectual dishonesty” some people ascribe to it. For me, it is, after all, a work of fiction. So I appreciate it regardless.

I thought that The Kite Runner was a pretty good book - in terms of the emotion and stuff - but very raw and harsh too… which I guess is actually what *makes* it a good book!
It made me quite sad, really…

  12. Traveller May 16th, 2007 10:45 am

I know someone who cried reading that book..

  13. Editor May 17th, 2007 5:13 am

    Yes. It made *me* cry!

  14. momi May 17th, 2007 6:06 am

omg lisa its wonderful and i really mean it! tell me how much time did it take u to write it? :)

  15. iMuslim May 17th, 2007 12:29 pm

Mashallah, beautiful words. An apology that stems from the heart, inshallah. :)

  16. Editor May 18th, 2007 11:20 am

    Thanks, you guys. :)

momi, I was thinking about writing a poem for about a week. Then I finally sat down, and it all flowed out within half an hour or so. I usually take longer to write anything (even comments!)… so as iMuslim put it, stems from the heart! Although I’m not sure if something extra growing out of my heart like that is a good thing. Muahaha. Ok, lame.

iMuslim, I certainly hope one that reaches the (intended) heart!

  17. sammerai May 18th, 2007 9:07 pm

MashaAllah. If… i mean when I have to apologize, can I use your poem ;)

  18. Editor May 19th, 2007 6:00 am

    Lol, sure!

But beware you must (yes, yes, another Geekbot reference), that the recipient isn’t offended by the irony and ambiguity of it. ;)

  19. Abu GG May 21st, 2007 1:29 pm

    Apology accepted.

  20. Salafiya May 22nd, 2007 11:42 am

I will forgive you for saying that The Kite Runner is an excellent read. lol. I absolutely hated that book because of all the false things in it. Allaahul Musta’an.

(btw I really do forgive you for anything…even if I can’t remember anything bad that you did. And I ask you to forgive me as well)

  21. Editor May 22nd, 2007 11:34 pm

    Abu GG, thanks.

    Salafiya, lol. Sure thing. :)
